An easy way for family to be reached — nothing to charge, nothing to carry.

A ShieldTag on a cane, walker, or lanyard badge lets a neighbor, a caregiver, or a passerby reach family directly if help is needed. No GPS, no wearable to charge, no app to learn.

Seniors protected by a ShieldTag

Best on a cane, walker, or lanyard badge for a family member who lives independently.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the tag

Stick it to a cane, walker, or clip it to a lanyard badge. No charging, no app to set up for them.

  2. 2

    Someone scans it

A neighbor, a caregiver, a passerby — anyone who needs to reach family can scan the tag.

  3. 3

    You get the message

It lands as a text to the family contact on file. Reply through the relay — your number stays private.

What's live today

  • Anonymous two-way relay — your number is never shown, on either end
  • Photo messages once your tag is on a paid plan
  • Approval-gated contact + masked video calling on Plus
"A neighbor scanned the tag on his walker and called us right away — the kind of call you hope for."

What people actually send

They need assistance

what's happening and where you are

They seem lost — reaching their family

where you are together right now

No GPS. No wearable to charge — that’s the point.

ShieldTag can’t see anyone’s location, and neither can anyone else. It only works the moment a real person scans the tag and chooses to send a message.

ShieldTag is not a 911 service and not a substitute for one. If it’s an emergency, call 911 first — reaching a family contact through a tag is best-effort, never guaranteed.

Questions

Does this replace a medical-alert device?

No — ShieldTag isn’t a medical-alert or fall-detection device. It’s a scan-to-message relay: useful alongside a medical-alert system, never instead of one, and never a substitute for 911.

Does it track location?

No. There’s no GPS on the tag — it only relays a message when a real person scans it and chooses to send one.

Is a phone number ever shown?

No. Messages relay in both directions — whoever scans the tag never sees the family contact’s number.

  • ShieldTag is not a medical-alert, fall-detection, or GPS tracking device — it is a durable, scannable tag.
