A finder never sees your number, and you never see theirs unless you choose to reply. Every message routes through ShieldTag's relay, not a direct connection.
Your number is never shown
The QR code on your tag encodes only an opaque ID — nothing that identifies you. A photographed or stolen tag reveals nothing on its own.
No GPS, no tracking — that's the point
ShieldTag can't see where you, your car, your pet, or your bag are. It only works the moment a real person scans the tag and chooses to send a message — nothing is logged in the background.
The finder's details stay between you and them
Whatever a finder shares only ever reaches your dashboard — ShieldTag never shares it onward with anyone else, and never sells contact data.
Approval-gated contact, on Plus
Plus lets you approve a finder before a conversation opens further, and adds masked video calling — you see them, they never see your number or exact location.
